Partnership formed over £360m Manchester development

A partnership between developer Salboy and Nobu Hospitality has been formed to develop a £360m mixed-use scheme in Manchester, including the tallest building outside London.

Called Viadux 2, the scheme will be built over two towers and include a 160-room hotel, restaurant and 452 branded residences.

The £360m property development is subject to planning permission.

At 76 towers and 256 metres high, one of the towers will be the tallest in the UK outside London.

The 452 branded residences mark Nobu’s brand debut into the UK luxury real estate market.

Nobu has a presence over five continents and was co-founded by Hollywood actor Robert De Niro.

“Having grown up in the area, I am personally immensely proud of this project in a city that continues its evolution as a global destination for luxury hospitality,” said Trevor Horwell, CEO at Nobu Hospitality.

“Manchester is home to world-class developments, a thriving culinary scene, and a growing demand for high-end lifestyle experiences.

“We are delighted to be working with Salboy to blend the Nobu experience with the essence of Manchester.”

Fred Done, co-founder of Salboy and Betfred, added: I'm truly excited to welcome the Nobu team to Manchester.

“As a businessman, I understand why Robert De Niro and his partners chose to invest in Nobu.

“It is about more than just money; it is about bringing this level of class to Manchester and celebrating what it means for the city.”
